A Major International Gathering
The International Rubber Conference (IRC) is a global gathering of scientists and engineers in the rubber and elastomer field. Its purpose is to promote international exchange through presentations and discussions on research findings—from fundamental science to practical applications—and to contribute to the broader progress of science and technology.
IRC2026 Aichi marks the sixth time Japan has hosted this prestigious conference, and the first time in a decade since the last edition in Kitakyushu in 2016 (following Tokyo 1975, Kyoto 1985, Kobe 1995, and Yokohama 2005). As the largest rubber and elastomer event in Japan, it is held only about once every 10 years, making it a significant occasion for the global industry.
A Comprehensive Technical Exhibition
Held in conjunction with the conference is the Rubber & Elastomer Technical Exhibition, which will run for four days from 3 to 6 November, 2026. This large-scale exhibition is expected to draw over 4,500 visitors and will showcase new materials, products, manufacturing machinery, processing facilities, and testing equipment. Admission to the exhibition is free of charge for all visitors, providing an accessible platform for companies to present their latest innovations to a broad audience. It is recognised as one of the world’s leading events in the rubber and elastomer sector.
With global rubber production and consumption rising—and Asia accounting for more than half—the event in Japan serves as an ideal venue to showcase Japan’s advanced rubber science and technology. It also offers an excellent opportunity for participants to present their scientific and technical achievements and promote their products. Additionally, it provides young engineers with valuable direct interaction with renowned foreign scientists, fostering international cooperation and the future development of the industry.
